A Small-Group Learning Environment for Deep, Cross-Disciplinary Study

We offer small-group, practice-oriented courses ranging from junior-high-, high-school-, and university-level subjects to practical fields such as daily life skills, arts, design, basic management, law, agriculture, and craft-making. Through dialogue and hands-on production, the program provides an environment that cultivates diverse perspectives.

21st-Century Gojundo

Gojundo〔五惇堂〕 was originally established in 1803 (Kyowa 3) as the first gogaku in the Isesaki domain. It began as a private school founded by local volunteers including Yusei Miyazaki〔宮崎有成〕, Jiuemon Yoshiaki Fukamachi (mathematics)〔深町重右衛門吉明(和算)〕, and Sakuemon Takai〔高井作右衛門〕, and was later officially recognized by the domain in 1808 (Bunka 5).
“21st-Century Gojundo〔21世紀五惇堂〕” is an independent organization created to inherit the educational spirit of Edo-period Gojundo, supporting local learning and creative activities. Working with instructors active in their respective fields and unconstrained by traditional academic boundaries, we would provide practical learning with an emphasis on interaction and personalized feedback made possible through small class sizes.。
